This midsize SUV is the latest in the Range Rover lineup, offering more sophisticated styling without giving up the brand’s off-road roots. Read our full review, then come to our convenient location for a test drive:

Performance

The Velar comes in five trims – S, SE, Dynamic SE, R-Dynamic HSE, and First Edition – and three engine options, including one diesel and two regular gasoline. The base engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 247 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, while you can also upgrade to a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 that churns out 380 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The diesel option is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that makes 180 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. All engines are mated to a smooth 8-speed automatic transmission.

All models come with all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics that gives you adaptability depending on the terrain ahead. It works to give you optimal control, whether you’re in low- or high-traction conditions, and features Torque Vectoring by Braking, providing responsive cornering and limiting understeering around sharp turns.

The 2018 Velar is equipped with the Land Rover InControl infotainment system, Touch Pro Duo. The system includes 10-inch dual high-definition touchscreens for entertainment, comfort, and navigation, allowing you (or your passenger) to perform multiple functions at once without switching between windows. The brand new Range Rover also features an Interactive Driver Display on upper trims, giving you driving information and data at a glance in a high-resolution display. It’s also available with a Head-Up Display and Rear Seat Entertainment System with two 8-inch screens in the back of the front headrests and four wireless headsets.
